Switched At Birth will officially be back on television screens on January 24!
Devoted fans of the show feared that they would never see closure for Switched At Birth, after cancellation rumors spread. The show’s creator Lizzy Weiss then tweeted the good news to fans on August 4.
“I HAVE NEWS! The 5th & final season of #SwitchedatBirth – including our 100th episode – airs Tuesday, January 24th!” Lizzy tweeted the message with a picture of the cast surrounded by a cake celebrating the show’s 100th episode.

The season four finale aired in October 2015, and the fifth season will air in the beginning of the year 2017. This means that there is a fifteen-month gap between the two air dates.
Switched At Birth stars Vanessa Marano and Katie Leclerc, who play Bay and Daphne. The hospital accidentally sent the newborns home with the wrong families. The girls then meet in their teenage years. The show focuses on their their families coming to terms that they are forever connected by their daughters. Although they are very different, the Kennish and Vasquez families learn to live with each other and grow to care for one another.
The show also stars Lucas Grabeel, Lea Thompson, D.W. Moffett, and Constance Marie.
Switched At Birth will premiere on Tuesday, January 24th on Freeform.
