Italian descent, Marina Squerciati was born on April 30, 1984, in New York City, United States. 

She is the offspring of the author and academic Marie Squerciati, while her father is John R. Jakobson. She earned a B.A. in theater from Northwestern University in 2003.

Career

Marina Squerciati received the Agnes Moorehead award for her contributions to the theater for her portrayal of Judy Holliday in the off-Broadway production of Just in Time: The Judy Holliday Story at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. She made her Broadway debut in a production of Casey Nicholaw‘s version of Ernst Lubitsch‘s To Be or Not to Be. She appeared in several Off-Broadway plays, including Manipulation and Beauty of the Father. she was a member of The Essentials. She developed the character of Kerri Taylor in the Cappella musical comedy Perfect Harmony.
