Keri Hilson was on a fast track to fame when she seemingly fell from grace because of a diss toward Queen Bey. Years later, she’s finally clearing the air about that track.
Keri angered the Beyhive and Ciara fans when she sang the lyrics ‘you can dance, she can sing but need to move it to the left’ and ‘go sit down and have babies.’
The leaked remix had the industry and fans confused as to why Keri would start drama with the other artists. This ultimately hurt her career.
During a chat with Claudia Jordan on Fox Soul, she revealed that she doesn’t play dirty and she didn’t write the lyrics. However, since she was young and new to Hollywood — she didn’t know how to handle it.
‘Was not my lyrics, was not my writing, was not my doing. Then, I’m caught. Do I tell the truth? Do I expose them early in my career? I’m super young, super new. This [is] my first album. It just soiled my whole dream.’

She also makes sure to give Beyoncé her flowers by acknowledging that there is no other artist like her.
The clip has circulated on social media and fans have a lot to say about it.
Taking to the comment section of the Shade Room, one follower wrote: ‘Beyoncé is Beyoncé but Keri deserves more credit. We give Beyoncé enough.’
Another said: ‘There’s room for all of us. Beyoncé possesses skills that no one else has; so does Keri Hilson. God designed us that way; we just don’t see it.’
This person added: ‘She should’ve just kept her mouth closed. Soon as she came for Beyoncé her career disappeared.’
While this commentator said: ‘She had beef with the Beehive, not Beyoncé.’
