All things must come to an end, including Rachel Beaver‘s time on Teen Mom.
Though her tenure wasn’t nearly as long as some of her co-stars, Rachel has revealed that she’s officially quit the show – and now she’s explaining why.
Rachel Beaver was a fan favorite addition to the cast, and fans quickly grew an attachment to her life and her story. Although she was wrapped up in an immense amount of drama, it was her dry sense of humor and existent personality that drew fans in.
In addition, her storyline portrayed a real genuine look as to what being an unprepared teen mom is really like. She did not hold back on providing fans the complete truth when it came to her new life as a young mom.
Unfortunately, Rachel has recently confirmed that there’s no more Teen Mom in her future.
“My mental health is/will always be more important than money,” Rachel shared via her Instagram story, announcing her decision.
“Therefore I have decided to quit Teen Mom. This will be my last season & I appreciate the opportunity I have been given. It was fun while it lasted…”
Rachel didn’t offer many more details about her decision to quit, but clearly alluded to the fact that being an MTV personality has been taking a toll on her mental health.
She did, however, share that she plans to stay in touch with fans.
“I will be going live more often after this season is over & making a new YouTube channel to vlog my real authentic life,” she wrote.
She signed off: “Thank you for all the support I’ve received while doing the show, I’m forever [grateful].”
Rachel seems concerned with authenticity and giving fans an accurate version of her life. She recently got vulnerable when she revealed to fans that she had suffered a miscarriage following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“I was 17 years old on September 13, 2019 & I will never forget feeling the most pain in my life as I watched my baby flatline right in front of my eyes,” she admitted. “The doctors at the time thought it was best I get D&E…a procedure they use for abortions as well.”
She continued on to say, “When you’re sitting here supporting & justifying this decision that was made yesterday realize abortion procedures are neccassary for health care. & let’s talk about mental health, women that cannot mentally handle not only having a baby but being pregnant as well. & rape victims of friends, random people, even family member!”
